School Grounds become Smoke Free on 1st March 2021

This is to kindly remind all parents, carers and visitors to our school that from 1st March 2021, our school grounds will be smoke-free. This will mean that it will be against the law to smoke and anyone found breaking the law could face a £100 fine. The new laws will also make public playgrounds, as well as outdoor day-care and child-minding settings and hospital grounds smoke-free.
We want to protect everyone from harmful second-hand smoke. Banning smoking in places like school grounds will denormalise smoking and reduce the chances of children and young people starting smoking in the first place– ultimately saving lives.
We look forward to having your support to ensure we all play our part in building a healthier future.
Those looking for help to stop smoking can access Wales’ free NHS support service Help Me Quit on 0800 085 2219 or visit www.helpmequit.wales for help and support, including access to free stop smoking medication.
Thank you.
